I’ve traveled this road since I was a kid, heading to our family camp at Silver Lake. It meant time with family, swimming in the lakes, and the excitement of summer. Every trip followed the same winding route past the river and through the mountains… something so familiar it became part of my memory. I painted this from that place… trying to hold onto the rhythm of the road and the water, and the anticipation that always came along with.

The Notch received an Honorable Mention in the Adirondack Artists Guild’s 27th Annual Juried Show, on view in Saranac Lake, New York through April 19, 2025.
